(Eagan, MN) Kirk Douglas (our studio owner NOT the movie star!) never met a challenge he didn't like, and that's one of the reasons Kirk is our Studio Owner of the Month. "Kirk is one of our owners who has seen it all, done it all, and loves it all," says Robert Hanley, Home Video Studio's Founder and CEO. "He's been with HVS for seven years and is the type of studio owner we point to all the time: he is solution-oriented. That partially explains why Kirk recently set a sales record for HVS!"

"I love challenges - problems that need solutions," Kirk said recently. "For example, I had to shoot close-ups on a very intricate piece of machinery that required hours of set up, careful lighting, and the use of a crane on rollers to show what was really going on. It was challenging but extremely rewarding. I just love that!"

Kirk also loves the fact that he is full-time in the business. "I thoroughly enjoy video editing, he added. "For example, we're doing all of the editing for a new TV show (Women of the Wild Outdoors) that airs on Direct TV. The producers send me hours and hours of raw footage and expect finished, seamless episodes, complete with music, narration, graphics - the whole deal. Talk about pressure! My job is to put it all together in a way that conveys the passion, intensity, and talent of the amazing women who are the stars of the show!"

Obviously, Kirk is very production-oriented. Though he enjoys editing, he also shoots lots of dance recitals, corporate training videos, and everything in between, from weddings to quilting demonstrations. Kirk explains, "I want to keep growing the business, particularly in the corporate arena because it makes for a diversified stream of assignments. And I think that keeps me on my toes. I also appreciate the back-up support we get from HVS Headquarters and, especially, from other studio owners around the country - it really is a 'family' at Home Video Studio."
